Metal Stage & Heavy Music Reception

Tallinn Music Week has been our strong ally from day one and they did not hesitate for a second to put Heavy Music Estonia in charge of their Metal Stage showcase! We immediately added the Heavy Music Reception to the event because we knew that in order for this to make any sense for the bands, we need to make sure there are right people there to see them!

At our first reception in 2023 there were 4 delegates who came.
At our last reception this year there were over 50 delegates.

Heavy Music Estonia is increasingly turning Tallinn Music Week into an important meeting place for heavy music industry professionals as well!

Here is an aftermovie from our last reception and showcase:

“Estonian metal doesn’t get anywhere near the coverage or respect that it deserves on the world stage – and Heavy Music Estonia are working hard to change all that. They hosted the Metal Stage that took over Telliskivi’s D3 venue on the Thursday night, not only curating the lineup but hosting a special reception that enabled members of the metal industry from all around the world to meet up, chat and better understand the Estonian metal climate. Initiatives like theirs are vital to local metal scenes thriving internationally, and it was heartening to see T3 – which had never previously hosted a metal show – completely packed out by eager metalheads all night long.”

Speaking of why events such as this are so important, Estonian Heavy Music Association founder Ott Evestus says, “We wanted to create an organisation that is on your side when no one else is. Offering opportunities for people who love to play heavy music and people who love to listen to heavy music through events that give everyone a chance to connect and be part of something bigger.
“Tallinn Music Week is a very important platform and we saw an opportunity there to make it more relevant for Heavy Music industry-focused people, thus helping local bands get more exposure and opportunities. We believe that Europe could use a showcase festival with more of a heavy music focus, so we took it upon ourselves to do just that with Tallinn Music Week.”
