Heavy Music Band Battle – the Baltic Edition – is looking for a Lithuanian Champion!
One Lithuanian band will win an invitation to compete in the Heavy Music Band Battle Grand Finale at Tallinn Music Week on april 11th (with paid travel and accommodation) for a chance to win a slot at Mystic Festival in Gdansk, Poland!
By 10th of february, 7 Lithuanian bands answered the open call for Heavy Music Band Battle.
They were judged by an international panel of judges, based on one song.
by 20th of February, the International and non-biased jury has voted and combining all the votes, the Lithuanian Pre-selection winner is (by one point) GRIEFGOD!
They will face the Latvian champion and four Estonian finalists at the Heavy Music Band Battle Grand Finale on 11.04 at Tallinn Music Week.
This is not a joke! TWO Estonian bands (Intrepid and Pridian) played Mystic Festival last year thanks to Heavy Music Band Battle – this year, we’ll raise the stakes by bringing in Latvia and Lithuania aswell!
FOR LITHUANIA, this year we will only have a blind submission stage where each and every Lithuanian heavy music band (from punk and rock to heavy metal and beyond) can submit their participation and a team of foreign judges (with no knowledge of Lithuanian bands) will cast their votes.
One band will be chosen by a blind jury, who judges songwriting skill, originality and production and will decide their vote by listening to just one song of each participant – so make it your best one!

Requirements:
– Must make heavy music (rock/metal incl. all their subgenres)
– Must be a Lithuanian band
Do you check all the boxes? Well – what do you have to lose? Even if your band will be chosen – you can still tell us to go f ourselves when we contact you! And if you’re not chosen? At least your song has been listened to by a handful of music industry professionals from all over the world! Who knows how that might be useful..
Heavy Music Estonia will start putting together the jury as soon as we have at least ten submissions. Our Estonian band battle jurys have included people from Metal Hammer UK, bookers from Summer Breeze and Mystic Festival, agents from Oktober Promotions and Prophecy Records etc. etc.
Once you make it to the Grand Final in Tallinn, you will be playing live in front of a full house and dozens of foreign music industry delegades that have flown in for Tallinn Music Week. The grand jury will also consist of heavy music journalists, agents and promoters from all over Europe.
You will be one in six acts playing live that night – four of which will be Estonian best heavy music acts and one will be a champion from Latvia. It will truly be the first Baltic Heavy Music Battle in ages that will hopefully lead to stronger connection between our countries and scenes and will open the door to more collaborative projects between the Baltic Heavy Music field in the future!
